Product overview
Eight matt acrylics covering most of the aircraft used by the Israeli Air Force from the late 1960s onwards. The selection spans the service's three finishes of the period: the desert scheme introduced after the Six Day War and standard until the early 1980s, the air superiority grey scheme that arrived with the F-15A/B at the end of 1976, and the modified desert scheme introduced with the first F-16s in 1980 — in which, per AK, WWII RAF Sky (FS 34424) replaced the FS 34227 Green.
Set contains (8 × 17 ml): AK11121 Tan Earth FS 30219, AK11869 Sand FS 33531, AK11311 Pale Green FS 34227 (RAL 6011), AK11876 Green FS 34258, AK11880 Duck Egg Blue FS 35622, AK11844 Sky FS 34424, AK11887 Dark Ghost Grey FS 36320, AK11888 Light Ghost Grey FS 36375
AK's dated scheme history: after the Six Day War the IAF introduced an upper-surface pattern of FS 30219 Dark Tan, FS 33531 Sand and FS 34227 Green, with FS 35622 Light Blue undersides; the desert scheme remained standard for most IAF tactical aircraft and helicopters until the early 1980s, though aircraft introduced in the 1970s such as the F-4E carried it to the end of service; an exception was the A-4H/N, whose manufacturer used a different green, FS 34258 Green
The greys, and what changed in 1980: the air superiority grey scheme of FS 36320 Dark Ghost Grey and FS 36375 Light Ghost Grey was introduced with the F-15A/B at the end of 1976 for aircraft assigned to high-altitude missions, including the Kfir C2, E-2C and RF-4E; with the first F-16s in 1980 the desert scheme was modified by replacing the FS 34227 Green with WWII RAF Sky (FS 34424) and the FS 35622 Light Blue with FS 36375 Light Ghost Grey, a modified scheme later applied to the Kfir C7, late C2 variants and the F-15I
Matt finish 3rd Generation acrylics for brush and airbrush (for airbrush, dilute with water or AK11500 thinner); made in Spain
Includes AK11844 Sky FS 34424 — the WWII RAF Sky shade, as AK itself states (the bottle we list as RAF Sky in AK11754); also shares AK11887 Dark Ghost Grey FS 36320 with AK11753 Modern Hellenic Air Force Ghost Scheme; the box carries AK's printed "Scale Reduction Factor" mark

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
