Product overview

Green Oxide is a pure green enamel liquid pigment for soils and mineral deposits that form in humid, damp air. It’s an enamel-bound pigment, not a powder; brush it on undiluted and, once dry, it holds fast, with no fixer going over it.

  • Let it down with White Spirit, marry one green into the next while wet, or re-wet a dried patch to move it.
  • The cured film is dead matt, so the green stays mineral and chalky rather than glossy.
  • Add dry pigment over it once set to deepen the mineral deposit.

Notes · Q & A

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
