AK Interactive Carlos Tobes 3GEN Signature Set is the only author box that is more than paint: fourteen 3rd Generation acrylics chosen by Carlos Tobes, plus ARIES — a warrior in 30 mm heroic scale, 48 mm real size, an exclusive edition by Yedharo Models for this set. The palette is earthy and deliberate: browns from leather to saddle, ivory, graphite, a pale blue and Decomposed Flesh — a figure painter's working set, much more muted than the brighter Josedavinci selection. AK's framing is that Tobes paints the box art with only these fourteen colours, and a painting guide is printed inside the cover.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
