Abteilung 502 Light Mud is an artist oil developed for mud accumulation, dried splashes and dirty vehicle underbodies. AK Interactive recommends using lighter mud shades over darker tones, particularly along splash edges and side areas where wet earth would dry first. The paint can be combined with plaster and darker colours such as AKABT130 Dark Mud to build varied earth tones. It can also be worked with clear coats to adjust the final effect towards a wetter or drier appearance.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
