Product overview

VALST-AIR003 is an airbrush stencil of access hatches and inspection panels for aircraft in 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72 scales. The sheet combines circular, square and rectangular openings in several sizes, allowing the selected shape to be painted directly rather than applied as a transfer. Its translucent, flexible plastic helps with placement on the model; the 125 × 125 mm sheet is washable and reusable.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
