Product overview

Scale75 Artists Thin Red Line is a six-colour smooth acrylic set covering warm and cool sections of the red spectrum. Primary Red and Orange establish the warmer end, while Magenta, Purple and Dark Violet extend the palette into cooler transitions. Red Ochre provides an earthier colour for subdued shadows and lining. The creamy, high-coverage paints are supplied in 17 ml dropper bottles and can be applied by brush or airbrush.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
