Product overview

The 4 lb Black kit is the workshop quantity for filling moulds, building material over armatures and repeat production where several batches may be needed. Two 2 lb tubs keep the separate components ready for measuring as work progresses. Once combined, the putty-like material provides a 1–3-hour shaping period, making the larger format a question of available quantity and batch consistency rather than a change to the working window.

  • Mix equal parts A and B at 50/50, kneading continuously for two minutes to activate the compound.
  • It self-hardens without baking and completes its cure in 24 hours.
  • Wait for full cure before sanding, carving or drilling the finished piece.

What's the difference between Green Stuff and Milliput-type putties?

Green Stuff is flexible and springy, holding fine sculpted detail like cloth and cabling. Milliput-type putties are harder-setting and sand smooth once cured, which makes them better for gap-filling and surfaces you want to blend flat. Many sculptors mix the two.

How do I stop epoxy putty sticking to my tools and fingers?

Keep a little water on the tool and your fingertips as a release; the putty won't grab a wet surface. Work in good light and let very tacky putty firm up for a few minutes before shaping fine detail.

How do I get the mixing ratio right?

Most epoxy putties cure at a 1:1 mix of the two parts by volume, kneaded until the colour is fully even with no streaks. Under-mixing leaves soft patches that never fully harden, so mix longer than feels necessary.

How do I fill a seam gap cleanly without losing nearby detail?

Press a small amount of putty into the gap, then wipe the excess back with a wet tool or a cotton bud before it cures, leaving putty only in the recess. Cleaning up wet saves sanding over detail later.
