Product overview

Apoxie Paste Khaki in the 8 fl oz size is the practical step up from the trial kit for a full project, several repairs or a small run of terrain pieces. The mixed compound has a thick, batter-like flow that can be spread while tending to stay where it is placed. It fills, bonds, seals and forms hard surface coats without eating foam. Expect 1–3 hours of working time, a set after 6 hours and full cure at 24 hours.

  • If Part A becomes firm, place the closed container in hot—not boiling—water for 10 minutes, allow it to cool, then mix; warmth reduces the remaining working window.
  • Mix the two parts vigorously for 2 minutes until uniform, as incomplete blending produces poor results.
  • Choose the 28 fl oz format when coating larger areas or repeating the same process across multiple pieces.

Notes · Q & A

What's the difference between Green Stuff and Milliput-type putties?

Green Stuff is flexible and springy, holding fine sculpted detail like cloth and cabling. Milliput-type putties are harder-setting and sand smooth once cured, which makes them better for gap-filling and surfaces you want to blend flat. Many sculptors mix the two.

How do I stop epoxy putty sticking to my tools and fingers?

Keep a little water on the tool and your fingertips as a release; the putty won't grab a wet surface. Work in good light and let very tacky putty firm up for a few minutes before shaping fine detail.

How do I get the mixing ratio right?

Most epoxy putties cure at a 1:1 mix of the two parts by volume, kneaded until the colour is fully even with no streaks. Under-mixing leaves soft patches that never fully harden, so mix longer than feels necessary.

How do I fill a seam gap cleanly without losing nearby detail?

Press a small amount of putty into the gap, then wipe the excess back with a wet tool or a cotton bud before it cures, leaving putty only in the recess. Cleaning up wet saves sanding over detail later.
