The smaller White pack is the sensible entry point for testing Apoxie Clay, making a master pattern or adding pale details to white hard plastic. Aves positions Clay as its fine-grained option for precise modelling, impressions and small surface work, rather than the general-purpose Apoxie Sculpt. Its working period spans 1–3 hours. Once left to set, it self-hardens without baking and reaches full cure after 24 hours.
- After the two parts have been kneaded for two minutes to a uniform colour, leave the mixture for five minutes to improve handling.
- Aves specifically recommends Finishing Solution for feathering fine detail; water is the stated option for smoothing larger areas.
- Use separate tools when retrieving Parts A and B, as directed by Aves.
- Soap and water or Finishing Solution can be used for clean-up while the compound remains workable.

What's the difference between Green Stuff and Milliput-type putties?
Green Stuff is flexible and springy, holding fine sculpted detail like cloth and cabling. Milliput-type putties are harder-setting and sand smooth once cured, which makes them better for gap-filling and surfaces you want to blend flat. Many sculptors mix the two.
How do I stop epoxy putty sticking to my tools and fingers?
Keep a little water on the tool and your fingertips as a release; the putty won't grab a wet surface. Work in good light and let very tacky putty firm up for a few minutes before shaping fine detail.
How do I get the mixing ratio right?
Most epoxy putties cure at a 1:1 mix of the two parts by volume, kneaded until the colour is fully even with no streaks. Under-mixing leaves soft patches that never fully harden, so mix longer than feels necessary.
How do I fill a seam gap cleanly without losing nearby detail?
Press a small amount of putty into the gap, then wipe the excess back with a wet tool or a cotton bud before it cures, leaving putty only in the recess. Cleaning up wet saves sanding over detail later.
