Eight 3rd Generation acrylic colours for aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service (IJN) during World War II — carefully researched for accuracy, AK notes, by the author of the "Aviation of Japan" blog. Five of the eight are standard colours for exterior surfaces and three are commonly used interior colours; AK's own names mark two of them, the Mitsubishi and Nakajima Interior Greens. Subjects include the A6M Zero, J1N Gekko, J2M Raiden and N1K-J Shiden.
- Set contains (8 × 17 ml): AK11891 IJN J3 Hai-iro (Grey), AK11892 IJN J3 SP (Amber Grey), AK11893 IJN D1 Deep Green Black, AK11894 IJN D2 Green Black, AK11895 IJN Q1 Anti-Glare Blue-Black, AK11896 IJN M3 (M) Mitsubishi Interior Green, AK11897 IJN M3 (N) Nakajima Interior Green, AK11898 IJN/IJA Aotake
- Three of the four colours in the IJN interior set (AK11738) are inside this box; the fourth, IJN M0/M1 Cockpit Interior Color (Faded Green), is unique to the interiors set
- Matt finish; acrylic colours for brush, and for airbrush dilute with water or AK11500 thinner

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
