White Ashes is an ultrafine dry weathering pigment — one 35 ml jar — for adding controlled, matt powder effects across modelling subjects. It can be worked loose onto a surface for light dusting or combined with other texture products when a more built-up result is required. Because dry pigment has low natural adhesion, the placement remains adjustable until it is secured.
Use on vehicles, figures, aircraft, scenery, naval subjects, trains and wargaming pieces.
For wet application, blend the powder into Pigment Fixer or White Spirit.
After applying it dry, add Pigment Fixer to hold the effect in place; White Spirit works too.
Blend it with other pigments to vary the weathering mixture.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
