Product overview
AK450 True Metal Gold is a 20 ml wax-based metallic paint, and gold is one of the four metal finishes named on AK’s own label. Priming is recommended before application. Once the layer has dried, polish it to bring out the metallic finish; the wax base needs 48 hours to become completely dry.
- Work the colour on with a brush, use a fingertip, or transfer it with a cotton swab.
- For airbrush work, dilute the paint with white spirit.
- An acrylic varnish may be added over the finished colour.
- Made in Spain.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
