Product overview

DAK vehicles and other models finished in light desert colours can receive controlled dirt runs with this 35 ml enamel streaking effect. AK067 is intended for vertical marks over sand-coloured surfaces, including German armour operating in North Africa, with the lines softened after application rather than left as hard strokes.

  • Shake well, then draw irregular downward streaks with a fine brush.
  • Leave the enamel for 10–15 minutes before blending.
  • Blend with a flat wide brush carrying only a small amount of AK011 White Spirit, wiping it on paper before each pass.
  • Work downwards with light passes until the effect is suitably restrained.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
