Streaking Effects Set is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml enamel weathering products for streaked and rain-run dirt on scale models. The three jars span the staple streaking jobs: Streaking Grime for general grime, Rust Streaks for rust, and Winter Streaking Grime — a light grey, in AK's own words, ideal for creating dirt streaks on light or white coloured surfaces. AK notes these streaking colours are versatile enough to be diluted down to the level of washes, so the set covers heavy streaking and fine wash work alike. All three are enamels, and all three are stocked by us separately as singles.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
