Product overview
Eight 3rd Generation acrylic colours for most of the aircraft flown by the Soviet Air Force during World War II. One of the eight is an interior colour — A-14 Interior Steel Grey, used on cockpits and other inner surfaces — and the other seven are camouflage colours covering every standard scheme of the period: AMT-4/AMT-6/AMT-7 for all mixed-construction military aircraft from mid-1941 to the summer of 1943; AMT-11/AMT-12/AMT-7 for mixed-construction fighters from the summer of 1943 to the end of the war; and AMT-1/AMT-4/AMT-12/AMT-7 for mixed-construction non-fighter aircraft over the same late-war period.
AK notes that A-21m and A-24m also served on the upper surfaces of all-metal, non-fighter aircraft from the summer of 1943, alongside A-32m (a third upper-surface colour) and A-28m (undersides) — and that AMT-12 and AMT-7 might be used as their approximate analogues
Contains all three colours of the Soviet Fighter Colors 1943-1945 set (AK11742) — AMT-7, AMT-11 and AMT-12; and shares not one colour with Soviet Aircraft Colors 1930s-1941 (AK11740), the pre-war palette having been superseded outright
Matt finish; acrylic colours for brush, and for airbrush dilute with water or AK11500 thinner
The box carries AK's printed "Scale Reduction Factor" mark, as on the rest of the 3GEN AIR range

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
