AK Interactive German Red Primer Modulation Set contains four water-based 3GEN acrylic colours arranged as shadow, base, light and highlight tones for German vehicles finished in red primer. The colours can be blended or mixed to build controlled tonal transitions and visual volume across armour plates and other large surfaces. It is intended for AFV modellers using colour modulation rather than applying one uniform primer tone.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
