Dark Rust is a dry weathering pigment in a rusty, corroded tone, brushed onto a model as fine loose colour. It suits aircraft, civil and military subjects, working into the rust staining and oxidised patches that build up on worn, exposed metal. Being a plain pigment, it blends with the other colours in the range so you can tune the exact shade of corrosion.
Brush it on dry, or take it wet first with AK048 Pigment Fixer or AK011 White Spirit.
Once a dry application is down, a touch of the same Fixer or White Spirit holds it fast.
Packed in a 35 ml black screw-cap jar.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
