Burnt Umber is a dry pigment from AK's powder range — fine, loose colour you dust onto a model. It differs from the enamel-based liquid pigments in that it needs fixing rather than fixing itself, and it covers most genres, from armour and aircraft to trains and dioramas.
Use it as a dry powder, or wet it into place with either White Spirit or Pigment Fixer; either also fixes a dry application when you're done.
It can be combined with other textures and with acrylic and enamel products to build surface effects.
A 35 ml jar of dry powder.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
