The Acrylic Drying Retardant Gel is a 60 ml gel medium for AK Interactive’s Dense Acrylic paints. Stirred into the paint, it stretches the working and drying time by more than fifty percent, which keeps the surface open long enough to blend wet-on-wet, soften hard edges and grade one tone smoothly into another. It’s the medium to reach for when you want unhurried transitions and cleaner colour blending rather than the quick set of neat acrylic.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Do I need a primer?
