Product overview

A water-based acrylic topcoat that protects painted miniatures and models with a high-gloss finish. The acrylic resin dries to a film of extraordinary hardness and permanence, guarding the paint beneath against dust, scratches, dirt and humidity. The varnish will not yellow or crack over time. Apply with a soft varnishing brush in fine coats at roughly four-hour intervals, only after the underlying paint has dried completely — at least 24 hours.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
