Tamiya 74005 Curved Scissors have curved blades that produce smooth, contoured cuts through plastic sheet and polycarbonate R/C car bodies. The curvature guides the material away from the lower blade during cutting, reducing the risk of cracking along the line. Using the deepest part of the jaw, the same scissors can also make straight cuts. The tool is aimed at shaping body shells, trimming sheet plastic and general curved trimming tasks across model building and R/C assembly.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
