A fully synthetic introductory set for artists who want a vegan-friendly range of versatile shapes with a modern feel.
This set is built as a clear entry point into Rosemary & Co’s synthetic Red Dot range, giving painters a compact but useful spread of shapes for everyday work. With pointed rounds, a long flat, a rigger, a dagger, and a fan, it is designed to cover both controlled mark-making and more expressive effects. That makes it suitable for watercolour, gouache, mixed media, and hobby painting, especially for artists who want to stay within a single consistent synthetic line.
The set’s strength lies in its balance of precision and expression. The pointed rounds handle drawing and detail, the long flat helps with broad strokes and edges, the rigger supports fine lines, the dagger creates dynamic, tapered marks, and the fan brings texture. Because the brushes are all synthetic, the set is especially attractive to vegan users or anyone who prefers low-maintenance tools with reliable snap. As a starter or travel set, it offers strong versatility without requiring a large investment.
What makes this brush special
The Red Dot line should feel crisp, responsive, and easy to control, with a more modern synthetic personality than traditional sable. Handles are likely short and practical, helping with portability and steady control. The overall quality should feel consistent across the range, with the set designed for dependable everyday use rather than luxury presentation. It is a good example of how a synthetic set can still feel versatile and painterly.

How we measure a brushA visual guide to the measurements shown in the size chart above.
These are the same measurements shown in the size chart above. Brush sizes are not standardised across brands, so use these dimensions when comparing brushes within a series or between manufacturers.
Tuft Length
The visible length of the brush hairs, measured from the ferrule to the tip.
Belly Diameter
The widest point of the brush head. On round brushes, this is the widest part of the belly.
Total Length
The full measurement from the tip of the brush to the end of the handle.
How to care for your brush
All brushes in this set are synthetic, so upkeep is straightforward. Rinse them soon after painting, reform the points or edges with your fingers, and avoid letting pigment dry in the ferrule. A mild soap or brush cleaner will keep the fibres springy and the tips sharp. Synthetic hair is more forgiving than natural hair, so it can tolerate slightly warmer water, but it is still best to avoid heat and rough scrubbing. Store the set dry in a roll, tube, or box that protects the dagger, rigger, and fan from bending.
