Raphael Series 8408 — Kolinsky Sable Round

I paint miniature I need high quality fine detail brushes. Raphael 8408 are by far the best I have found. They normally cost a small fortune from places like up market art stores or Amazon, but were extordinally well priced at Hobby Heaven. I would definitely recommend for anyone miniature painting and wanting to upgrade from cheaper synthetic brushes.

I ordered 2 Rapheal Kolinsky 8408 brushes that arrived in 2 weeks. The items were very well packaged. I have used the brushes and they are excellent.

These brushes hold plenty of water or paint and go to a fine point. Excellent for all watercolour, but especially where fine detail is required e.g. botanical illustration.

The 8408 # 2 are Raphael Kalinsky Sable brush is one of the best ! Holds a lot of paint and " points" up very well. Take care of them and they will last years.

I ordered two of my favorite Raphael 8408 brushes that I can no longer get in Canada. They arrived within 15 days of ordering them online. Amazing customer service and I love the protective tubes you sent them in. I will definitely by ordering more of these amazing brushes.

These are great brushes for detail when painting botanical subjects. They are also great for dry brush work. I highly recommend this vendor. I received the brushes quickly considering the distance they had to travel!! Thank you Hobby Heaven.

I've intended investigating what's available in the various sable brush ranges for a while now. I plan to get a selection of the most highly rated brushes and pick a running order for replacement brushes to save head scratching later.
I paint wargame figures and use a variety of types of paint and inks, including oils, so the brushes will have to suffer a fair amount of abuse. I've only had time to use the Raphael brushes a couple of times so far, but I'm already impressed. As many of the figures I paint are 15/18mm, I needed pretty fine brushes, but they also need to carry enough paint to do the job. So far they handle the job very well. Sharp point to cope with detail and the body of the brushes holds ample paint to get on with the job. They clean easily and retain their shape instantly.
So, despite the fact there's no such thing as a cheap Kolinsky Sable brush, they're good value and good quality. They'll have some stiff competition, but I'm very happy with them.

I was never really a fan of the shape of the Series 7 and found the 8404's to be too similar so when I saw the 8408's I had to try them. I had the 0 for years and it's still my most favorite brush. I got the 1 and 2 from here recently and I'm happy to report they were exactly as I expected. They keep effortless points and still hold a good deal of paint. I'll be using them on my youtube channel and minis for a long time if the 0's anything to go by.

I absolutely love this series. I paint very fine detail and this series just bever disappoint. I much prefer them to W&NSeries 7 as I feel thst they retain their point for longer, provide finer flexibility of hair yet retain a good volume of paint in the belly
