Product overview

The UV-T is DSPIAE's UV touch light: a red and black torch with a 3 W, 365 nm bulb behind a black filter lens. DSPIAE chose 365 nm because it makes fluorescent paint glow without tinting the model's other colours, which a 395 nm light washes purple. It also cures 365 nm light-curing putty, faster on the high setting. One switch steps through high, low and a strobe of five flashes a second. The battery charges over micro-USB, and a USB port lets the light top up a phone.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
