WWII Luftwaffe Seaplane Colors is the smallest and most specific box in AK's Luftwaffe range: three 3rd Generation acrylics, the camouflage colours most commonly used on German seaplanes during the Second World War. AK names the aircraft, and the list is the selling point: Arado Ar 196, Blohm & Voss BV 138 and BV 222, Dornier Do 18, Do 24 and Do 26, Focke-Wulf Fw 200, and Heinkel He 59, He 60 and He 115. RLM 65 (1941) is shared with the Mid-War box AK11717, so owners of that set already hold one of the three.
- Set contains (3 × 17 ml): AK11818 RLM 65 (1941), AK11823 RLM 72, AK11824 RLM 73
- RLM 65 (1941) also appears in AK11717 WWII Luftwaffe Mid-War Colors
- Matt finish throughout — no metallic or gloss member in the box
- Acrylic colours for brush; for airbrush, dilute with water or AK11500 thinner
- The box carries AK's printed "Scale Reduction Factor" mark, as on the rest of the 3GEN AIR range

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
