AK Interactive WWI RFC & RNAS British Aircraft Colors is a four-bottle set of 3rd Generation acrylics for Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service aircraft of the First World War. The four cover the period British dope shades: two variants of PC10 — included twice because the shade varied — plus PC12, with Battleship Grey for the metal panels. The clear doped linen fabric under these finishes has its own companion set, AK11712 Clear Doped Linen.

Set contains (4 × 17 ml): AK11158 PC10 Early (Reflective Green), AK11809 PC10 Late, AK11810 PC12, AK11163 Battleship Grey (Intermediate Blue)
PC10 and PC12 are the period British dope shades; two PC10 variants are in the box because the shade varied
Matt finish throughout — no metallic or gloss member in the box
Acrylic colours for brush; for airbrush, dilute with water or AK11500 thinner

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
