Product overview

The Realistic Plants range uses CO2 laser-cut paper sheets to provide defined miniature foliage for scenery, dioramas and vehicles. Each of the five variants represents a named plant type rather than a mixed selection. The pieces are primarily recommended for 1:32 and 1:35 work, with additional use at 1:48 and across 54 mm, 75 mm and 90 mm figure scales.

  • Variants: AK8134 Fern, AK8135 Dry Fern, AK8136 Bracken Fern, AK8137 Ivy and AK8138 Jungle Plants Set.
  • Each pack supplies one plant species or foliage type on a laser-cut sheet.
  • The pieces can be fixed with small amounts of white glue, diluted white glue or AK118 Gravel & Sand Fixer.
  • The accompanying guide covers painting, separation from the sheet, shaping with tweezers and final assembly.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
