AK Interactive Standard Tools All Eras is a three-colour set from AK's Color Combos series, covering the tools carried by military and civilian vehicles of any era. AK supplies two colours for replicating wood effects and one for the metal parts of the tools: Wood Base and Dark Wood Grain for handles and shafts, and Gun Metal for heads, blades and fittings. The small format suits controlled brush work on axes, hammers, shovels, saws and similar stowed equipment.

Set contains (3 × 17 ml): AK11351 Wood Base, AK11106 Dark Wood Grain (Mahogany Brown), AK11212 Gun Metal
Mixed finish: two matt wood colours plus metallic Gun Metal
Two colours for wood effects and one for the metal parts of the tools

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
