AK Interactive Real Colors 1937-1944 Panzer Colors contains six lacquer paints for German Army vehicles from the pre-war period through the middle of the Second World War. The selection covers the early Dunkelbraun and Dunkelgrau camouflage, the later overall Dunkelgrau finish and the three-colour system introduced in 1943 using Dunkelgelb, Olivgrün and Rotbraun. Elfenbein is included for the upper areas of enclosed vehicle interiors.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
