AK Interactive Old & Weathered Wood Vol.1 contains six matt 3rd Generation acrylics selected for warm timber colours and varied old or weathered wood effects. The palette includes tones for freshly cut timber, a general wood base, mahogany, grain, varnished surfaces and worn wood. AK states that the set can be combined with Old & Weathered Wood Vol.2 to represent a wider range of wood types.

Set contains (6 × 17 ml): AK11115 Freshly Cut Timber (Light Earth), AK11351 Wood Base (set only), AK11106 Mahogany Brown, AK11108 Wood Grain (Hull Red), AK11119 Varnished Wood (Cork), AK11110 Weathered Wood (Leather Brown)

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
