AK Interactive NMM Gold Paints Set contains six matt 3rd Generation acrylic colours for simulating reflective gold with the Non-Metallic Metal technique. These are not metallic paints: the illusion of metal is created through controlled placement of highlights, mid-tones and shadows. The colours are intermixable for smooth transitions and can be applied by brush using the coverage and adhesion of the 3GEN formula, or airbrushed after dilution.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
