AK Interactive Modern Russian Colors Vol. 1 contains six 3GEN acrylic paints for the camouflage patterns most commonly applied to vehicles of the Russian Army and to the armed forces of many post-Soviet states. AK notes the colours are also useful for military vehicles from the last years of the USSR. The selection combines protective and reflective greens with black-grey, pale grey, greyish yellow and mustard yellow for disruptive vehicle schemes. A second volume, Modern Russian Colors Vol. II, extends the range.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
