Product overview
Invocation Purple is an acrylic Deep Shade, 30 ml to the bottle, that AK recommends over cool tones as well as reds and sand. Run across a basecoat, it collects in the low points to deepen shadow and separate detail, drying to a matt, even finish. It's the shading step in a three-stage approach — base, then shade, then highlight — that gets a unit painted quickly.
- Recommended over cool tones, and over reds and sand as well.
- Micro-dispersed sub-micron pigment in acrylic resin; a matt finish that won't reactivate.
- Layer a second coat to intensify it, or reach for AK13010 medium to hold it back.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
