Product overview
Human Skin is an acrylic Deep Shade made for shading flesh across all skin types on wargaming miniatures. Its controllable formula supports successive layers, so contrast can be increased to suit the particular complexion instead of being fixed by one application. Micro-dispersed pigments in pure acrylic resins lightly tint the forms and strengthen darker areas where the product gathers, while retaining an overall matte finish. It fits AK's Base–Deep Shade–Light painting sequence for miniature armies.
- Supplied in a 30 ml bottle.
- Once set, the dried layer will not lift with water or the range's own medium.
- AK13010 Deep Shade Medium can be used when more transparency or lower contrast is required.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
