Product overview
Deep Shade Medium is the colourless acrylic medium for adjusting any colour in AK's Deep Shades range. It dilutes a shade for greater transparency and a softer effect on miniatures without acting as either a thinner or a solvent. Rather than replacing the original system, it reduces colour intensity while preserving the working properties of the Deep Shade formula, giving you a controlled way to moderate contrast.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
