Dark Wash is intended for miniatures built around deep colours and darker overall schemes, but it stops short of using pure black. It still provides high contrast, placing it between the pure-black tone of Black Wash and the more specialised roles of Brown or Dark Rust. This is the option for strong definition when a black wash would be a step too far.
This is a general-use colour rather than a single named effect.
Washing places concentrated colour into crevices, nooks and outlines.
The product is supplied ready to use.
A wash carries more concentrated paint than a filter.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
