Product overview

Carmine Dawn is intended for orange, reddish and skin tones, providing an acrylic route to shade warm colour schemes on a miniature or figure. Micro-dispersed pigments tint the surface while intensifying shadow contrast in the places where the product collects. Its balance of fluidity and viscosity is designed to retain pigment in folds and recesses, including on vertically posed figures, and the dried effect remains matte.

  • Contents: 30 ml.
  • The pigment is carried in pure acrylic resins rather than an enamel wash medium.
  • Its painting sequence is Base, Deep Shade, then Light.
  • Water and the matching medium cannot reactivate the layer after it has dried.
  • AK13010 is the range medium for reducing contrast or increasing transparency.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
