AK Interactive British Desert Colors 1940-43 covers British and Commonwealth vehicles in North Africa and the Mediterranean from mid-1940 to the spring of 1943. Its six 3GEN acrylic paints support the Caunter Scheme, the later overall Light Stone or Portland Stone finishes, and the Desert Pink ZI base with Dark Olive Green PFI patterning introduced in October 1942. It is the Allied counterpart to the Afrika Korps set (AK11652), which covers the same campaign from the German side.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
