Asphalt Road Dirt is a 35 ml jar of ultrafine dry weathering pigment from AK Interactive’s pigment collection, in a dark brown that matches the grimy dirt worked into asphalt roads. The powder is milled finer than most on the market and comes in a generous jar — close to three times the quantity of some leading brands. Use it to dust and stain models and dioramas wherever road grime, dark earth and traffic dirt collect.

Ultrafine dark-brown pigment for road-dirt and asphalt weathering on models and dioramas.
Apply it dry, or wet by mixing with Pigment Fixer or White Spirit.
Dry application can be fixed afterwards with Pigment Fixer or White Spirit.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
