AK Interactive AK11267 Bronze Effect Paint 35ml – For Realistic Verdigris

AK Interactive Bronze Effect Paint

For Realistic Verdigris Effects | AK11267

Special Formulation for Authentic Patina Effects

This specialized acrylic paint is part of AK Interactive's weathering effects system. It's specifically designed to naturally react when in contact with the catalyst agent (AK11268) to achieve stunning verdigris effects on your models and miniatures.

Ideal for creating realistic aged metal appearances on miniatures, scale models, dioramas, and craft projects!

⚠️
IMPORTANT: This bronze effect paint is designed to be used ONLY in combination with the Oxidizing Agent (AK11268). For optimal results, always use both products together as directed.
🎨 Specialized Formula

This is not an ordinary bronze paint! It contains special chemical compounds that react with the oxidizing agent to create authentic verdigris effects that would take years to develop naturally.

Realistic Bronze Base

Even without the oxidizing effect, this paint provides a beautiful bronze finish that can be used as is for non-weathered parts or as a base for other weathering techniques.

🧪 Chemically Reactive

The unique formulation is designed to create a real chemical reaction when the oxidizing agent is applied, resulting in more authentic verdigris effects than can be achieved with standard painting techniques.

How To Use

1
Surface Preparation: Ensure your model surface is clean and properly primed. For plastic models, a good primer is essential for proper adhesion.
2
Base Application: Apply the Bronze Effect Paint (AK11267) with a brush on the areas where you want the verdigris effect. For best results, apply a smooth, even coat.
3
Drying Time: Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding. This usually takes 20-30 minutes but may vary depending on environmental conditions.
4
Oxidation: Apply the Oxidizing Agent (AK11268) over the dried bronze paint. The chemical reaction will begin immediately, and you'll see the verdigris effect developing.
5
Effect Development: Allow 15-30 minutes for the full effect to develop. The longer you wait, the more intense the oxidation effect will become.

💡 Expert Techniques

Selective Application: For more realistic weathering, apply the oxidizing agent only in areas where moisture would naturally collect - such as recesses, corners, and horizontal surfaces.

Intensity Control: Dilute the oxidizing agent with water to create different levels of oxidation - from subtle aging to heavy weathering.

Layered Effects: For the most realistic results, apply multiple thin layers of both the bronze paint and oxidizing agent rather than single thick applications.

Partial Coverage: For a "maintained but aged" look, apply the bronze paint fully, but the oxidizing agent only in selected areas to simulate partial weathering.

Applications & Uses

Model Type Application Ideas
Military Models Artillery pieces, ammunition, decorative elements, medals, plaques, emblems
Historical Miniatures Ancient weapons, armor, shields, helmets, statues, coins
Architectural Models Copper roofing, bronze statues, door fixtures, church bells, weathervanes
Steampunk Creations Mechanical components, pipes, gauges, fittings, decorative elements
Dioramas Street furniture, gates, railings, manhole covers, lampposts
Fantasy Miniatures Ancient artifacts, magic items, dragon scales, clockwork constructs
Before Oxidizing Agent

When applied alone, AK11267 creates a realistic bronze/copper finish with a slight metallic sheen. This makes it perfect for:

  • New or well-maintained bronze elements
  • Recently polished decorative pieces
  • Indoor bronze items not exposed to weathering
  • Base layer for other weathering techniques
After Oxidizing Agent

Once the oxidizing agent is applied, a stunning transformation occurs, creating authentic verdigris effects ideal for:

  • Ancient artifacts and archaeological finds
  • Outdoor elements exposed to the elements
  • Maritime bronze objects exposed to salt water
  • Neglected or abandoned metal structures
