AK Interactive's Spell Ink Set groups three inks AK describes as secondary and tertiary tones, for deeper colour accents on miniatures. The box holds three 30 ml dropper bottles — Forge Red, Crimson and Toad Green — and each mixes with acrylic paints to raise saturation, or is used straight with a brush or an airbrush. Thinned down they serve as filters and washes; laid over a base coat they deepen it rather than replace it, because AK formulates the range to stay transparent.

  • Set contains: AK16051 Forge Red, AK16048 Crimson and AK16050 Toad Green — all 30 ml, all acrylic
  • AK's own line for the range: the inks can be mixed with acrylic paints for more saturated tones, or used directly with a brush or an airbrush, as filters and washes, or in layers over base colours

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
