Abteilung 502 Vehicle Weathering & Effects Set contains six artist oils selected for weathering military and civilian vehicle models. AK Interactive recommends the colours for creating dirt, mud and grease effects while adding depth and colour intensity to the finish. The blendable oil formulation supports a broad range of intermediate shades, and the selection includes a colour suited to winter camouflage effects. Each colour is supplied as a separate 20 ml oil paint tube.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
