Abteilung 502 Orange is a warm artist oil intended for working with red and yellow colour ranges. AK Interactive recommends it for mixes containing those colours, where it can introduce intermediate tones, smoother transitions and greater chromatic variation. Its PO13 and PY83 pigment combination provides a useful secondary colour for custom mixes as well as direct application. The reduced-oil ABT502 formulation is designed to produce more matt finishes while retaining the controlled blending and extended working properties associated with oil paint.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
