Abteilung 502 Naval & Grey Effects Set contains six artist oils selected to add depth, contrast and chromatic variation to models painted in grey tones. AK Interactive recommends the set for German Second World War subjects, classic and modern aircraft, and ships. The blendable colours allow additional nuances to be worked over otherwise uniform grey base coats, helping define panels, shadows and illuminated areas without replacing the underlying paint scheme.
Set of 6 × 20 ml artist oil tubes (AK code AKABT306; former code ABT306)

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
