Abteilung 502 Glaze Medium is a fluid acrylic glazing medium for the Abteilung 502 Dense Acrylic Colors range. Mixed with acrylic colour it increases transparency and brightness and lowers the paint's viscosity without fading the hue, so thin, highly transparent layers can be built up gradually for glazes, patinas and floating effects that add luminosity and depth to models.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
