The Gaahleri Atlas is a painting handle machined from solid aluminium, built to keep a miniature steady and your hand relaxed through long sessions. Its head turns a full 360° on a ratchet that clicks positively at each step, so the model stays where you set it mid-stroke. The top is a universal magnetic platform: painting docks swap on and off in seconds without touching wet paint, and a magnetic cone dock for very small parts stores inside the weighted base. A removable stabiliser gives you a finger rest and somewhere to park the brush, and ten brush shaping plates help keep a sharp point.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
