The DSPIAE PT-MPS opens snap-fitted model assemblies that need to come apart again after a misalignment or incorrect fit. Its thin, chisel-like blade enters the joint without forcing fingers or an exposed knife edge into the seam, while the push-button linkage deploys it only when needed. The blade retracts fully into the body for safer storage and protection from drops.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
