Product overview

The DSPIAE AT-TZ07 is the placing tool within the anti-static trio, intended for lifting and positioning small decals or precision components. Separate carbon fibre contacts sit on a 420J2 stainless steel frame, so the steel supplies the body while a different material meets the item. Its narrow front keeps more of a tiny part visible during precise movement.

  • Fine pointed ends concentrate the hold within a small contact area.
  • Decal film stays flat at its edge instead of curling through static electricity.
  • Screw fixings allow both working pieces to be removed and replaced.
  • The fitted contacts use extra-strong carbon fibre.

Notes · Q & A

Should I use straight or curved tweezers?

Straight tips give the most control for placing small parts and photo-etch flat to a surface. Curved tips let you see past your own hand and reach into recesses. If buying one pair first, start with fine straight points.

What tweezers are best for applying decals?

Fine-pointed, smooth-jawed tweezers, ideally with rounded inner edges so they don't cut a wet decal film. Some modellers prefer flat-tipped or rubber-tipped tweezers for lifting decals, as sharp points can pierce the soft film once it slides off the backing.

What are self-closing (reverse-action) tweezers for?

They grip when relaxed and open when squeezed, so they hold a part clamped without hand strain — useful while glue sets or when soldering. The trade-off is less fingertip feel than standard tweezers for delicate placement.

How do I fix tweezer tips that no longer meet?

Misaligned tips usually come from dropping them or gripping something too hard. Gently realign by hand and true the very tips on fine abrasive so they meet flush. Once bent past that, precision work suffers and they're best replaced.
