Compared with Series M, Series S has longer bristles and a larger belly, so it carries more paint and gives longer working time. Compared with Raphael 8404 and Winsor & Newton Series 7, it sits in the same premium natural-sable class but leans harder into hobby/miniature use and a slightly more "workhorse" feel in the larger sizes.

How to care for your brush
Prompt rinse after use, then gentle brush soap cleaning and reshaping. Brush soap or Marseille soap for routine cleaning. Store dry, reshaped, and tip-protected — do not leave soaking. Do not scrub aggressively, do not leave in water or solvent, and do not let paint dry in the ferrule. With proper care, a premium Kolinsky brush can last many years.
