AK482 Xtreme Metal Duraluminium is a metallic lacquer for applying a duraluminium colour to scale models. Its resistance to masking helps the painted surface cope when neighbouring areas are covered and work continues elsewhere on the same model. The rest of the range’s behaviour supports the same way of working: the lacquer covers heavily, carries a high sheen, and dries fast enough that a masked stage does not hold the rest of the job up.

  • The pack contains 30 ml of lacquer.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
